The invention discloses a method for processing alarm storm and a device thereof, wherein the method for processing the alarm storm comprises: if the number of alarm message within the current periodis higher than the preset first threshold value, the alarm message types to be filtered are added in the filtering collection of the alarm message; or if the number of alarm message within a pluralityof current preset periods is lower than the first threshold value, the alarm message types to be filtered in the filtering collection of the alarm message are deleted; wherein, in each period, according to the alarm message types to be filtered in the filtering collection of the alarm message, the corresponding alarm message can be filtered. By adopting the invention, after the alarm storm occurs, self-adapting dynamic regulation can be realized by alarm suppression strategy; when storm suppression is carried out by a network management system, the invention can ensure the network managementsystem to preserve the alarm message to the utmost extend under the available condition.
