[0020] review

[0021] One embodiment of this disclosure relates to a flow-through compressible gasket dispenser with rotational motion that dispenses product and prevents product leakage. For example, a cosmetic dispenser includes a housing having a reservoir for containing powdered cosmetics. The dispenser includes a flow-through compressible gasket having at least one aperture. In addition, the dispenser includes an external dial actuatable to selectively deliver the powdered cosmetic product through at least one aperture in the flow-through compressible gasket. A flow-through compressible gasket provides a mechanical seal between the outer and inner dials. The dispenser includes an applicator coupled to the external dial for applying the powder cosmetic such that the product dispensing channel terminates at the applicator.

[0022] Another embodiment includes a product dispenser having a flow-through compressible gasket having at least one aperture. An external dial co...

Abstract

A dispenser includes a flow-through compressible gasket and housing having a reservoir for containing a product. The flow-through compressible gasket has a at least one aperture to provide a product delivery passage when the dispenser is in an open position and to prevent leakage when the dispenser is in a closed position. In some examples, the flow-through compressible gasket may be made of a material having elastomeric properties. Thus, the compressible flow-through compressible gasket provides a seal for the dispenser.

Description

Background technique [0001] Devices exist for dispensing cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, household or other types of items. Such devices generally include an outer housing, a delivery mechanism for dispensing different types of products, and an applicator. For example, in various industries, devices for applying powders, gels, creams or lotions are employed. In the cosmetic and personal care industry, devices are used for applying lipsticks, lip oils, skin creams, lotions, compacts, powders and other cosmetics to various parts of the face and body. [0002] In general, these devices have a number of disadvantages. For example, product cannot be dispensed at a controlled rate, so that either too little or too much product comes out of the device. Another problem is that the applicator on the device will continue to flow the product out of the device once the desired amount of product has been dispensed. For example, product may leak or spill out of the device, especially wh...
