Abstract

The invention discloses a Chinese input device and a Chinese input method for inputting Chinese by using a touch screen. The Chinese input device comprises a database, a virtual keyboard and a processing module. The database stores a plurality of candidate characters, a plurality of initial units and a plurality of final units, wherein each candidate character consists of at least one initial unit and at least one final unit. The virtual keyboard displays the initial units and the final units on the touch screen and receives touch instructions, wherein the touch instructions comprise operations of touching the virtual keyboard to determine the input initials and releasing the virtual keyboard to determine the input finals. The processing module is connected with the database, receives the touch instructions, compares the input initials and the input finals with the initial units and the final units in the database to generate corresponding at least one candidate character, and displays the candidate characters on the touch screen for selecting.
