Expandable medical device with beneficial agent matrix formed by a multi solvent system

A multi solvent drug delivery matrix formation method is used to place layers into a reservoir in a stent in a stepwise manner to achieve extended delivery of water soluble, sensitive, or difficult to deliver drugs. The multi solvent matrix formation method allows the formation of a drug reservoir with a layered morphology in which the mixing between layers is limited to allow the different layers to perform different functions in controlling drug delivery. A stent having a drug delivery matrix includes a first beneficial agent layer affixed to the stent by depositing a first solution of a first polymer and a first solvent, and a second beneficial agent layer affixed to the first beneficial agent layer by depositing a second solution of a second polymer and a second solvent. The second solvent is selected so that the first polymer is substantially insoluble in the second solvent to prevent degradation of the first polymer during deposition of the second polymer. A therapeutic agent is provided in the first beneficial agent layer or the second beneficial agent layer to form a drug delivery matrix.

The present invention relates to a polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprising: an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly including an anode, a cathode and a polymer electrolyte membrane interposed therebetween; an anode-side conductive separator plate having a gas flow channel for supplying a fuel gas to the anode; and a cathode-side conductive separator plate having a gas flow channel for supplying an oxidant gas to the cathode. A conductive separator plate made of carbon has poor wettability with water. This has posed the disadvantage that variations in performance are induced by nonuniform gas distribution among cells due to the accumulation of product water or humidifying water in the gas flow channel on the surface of the separator plate. The present invention employs a conductive separator plate comprising a conductive carbon having a hydrophilic functional group, at least in a portion of the gas flow channels, thereby preventing water from accumulating in the gas flow channels.

System and method for network management XML architectural abstraction

Embodiments of the present invention provide an abstraction for the representation of a network device's configuration and management data that is not tied to a particular protocol or network device implementation but is, instead, an original, general format used as source for producing multiple, alternate and / or equivalent representations that exist and occur simultaneously within a system of network devices. Other embodiments of the invention utilize XML abstraction as the input to a system of software code generators that can produce application programming interfaces used to communicate and manage network devices that support specific management protocols and representations. Another embodiment of the invention is the result of generalizing an existing, but specific, representation of a network device's configuration and management data so that the newly-generalized format can be repurposed and provide alternate, additional but equivalent representations of the original, specific network device configuration and management information.

Variable delay oscillator buffer

ActiveUS20080192876A1Alleviate subharmonic mixing based deteriorationReduce mixPulse automatic controlAngle demodulation by phase difference detectionLoop filterHarmonic
A novel and useful variable delay digitally controlled crystal oscillator (DCXO) buffer (i.e. slicer). A conventional slicer following the DCXO is modified to introduce a controlled random variable delay into the buffered DCXO clock. The resultant output clock signal is then used as input to the TDC of an ADPLL circuit to alleviate the subharmonic mixing based deterioration caused by LO / TX coupling through the crystal pins, and to alleviate the dead-beat effects caused by the finite resolution of the TDC. Two mechanisms for introducing variable delay into the buffered DCXO output clock signal are presented: a first mechanism that creates variable delay in fine steps and a second mechanism that creates variable delay in coarse steps. In both mechanisms, switches are incorporated into the slicer circuitry and controlled using digital bit sequences which may comprise dithering signals. The switches are turned on and off via the digital bit sequences which varies the delay of the slicer clock output which serves to shift the rising and falling transition points of the resultant output clock signal. The jitter is shifted to higher frequencies where it is filtered out by the PLL loop filter.
