no. 1 example —

[0050] refer to figure 1 The client-server system 10 includes server devices 20 and 22 , a digital multifunction printer (hereinafter, referred to as “MFP (Multifunction Printer) multifunction printer”) 30 , and a PC (Personal Computer) 40 . The servers 20 , 22 , MFP 30 , and PC 40 are connected to each other via a network 11 constituted by LAN (Local Area Network) lines or the like, and can perform data communication with each other.

[0051] Server devices 20 and 22 provide various services to users using MFP 30 and PC 40 . The above-mentioned services are not particularly limited, and include, for example, file management services, plan management services, address book file management services, electronic meeting services, and remote PC services.

[0052] PC 40 is a terminal device operated by a user who wants to use various functions of MFP 30 and various services provided by server devices 20 and 22 . For example, when a user issues a print instruction to MFP 30 from P...

no. 2 example —

[0157] refer to Figure 11 , the client server system 500 includes an MFP 501 and PCs 502A-502C. MFP 501 and PCs 502A to 502C are connected to each other via network 503 constituted by LAN lines or the like, and can perform data communication with each other.

[0158] The PCs 502A to 502C store the log-in history data 200 in the HDD, create a service list data and provide it to the MFP 501, and provide users with various services including a file management service described later. Except for the function, it has the same structure as the above-mentioned PC40.

[0159] MFP 501 has the same configuration as MFP 30 described above except that a program for realizing scan destination display processing described later is stored in the HDD instead of a program for realizing service list display processing described above.

[0160] In addition, the number of MFP501 and PC502A~502C is not limited to Figure 11 Quantity shown. In addition, the client server system 500 includes ot...

Abstract

A client server system allowing easy selection of a provided service is provided. In the client server system, a server apparatus includes: an HDD storing a service ID and a user ID indicating a user who is logged in to the service in association with each other; a control unit searching for a service logged in by the user who is logged in to the MFP based on the information stored in the HDD, inresponse to an inquiry from MFP; and an LAN I / F transmitting the result of search by the control unit to the MFP. The MFP is adapted to include: an operation panel; an inquiry function of a control unit for inquiring of the server about the logged-in service; an LAN I / F receiving the result of search; and a display control function of the control unit, causing the operation panel to display an image indicating the logged-in service, based on the received result of search.

Description

[0001] (Related application for cross-reference; Japanese Patent Application No. 2009-248825) technical field [0002] The present invention relates to a client server system, a client device, and a server device, and particularly relates to a technique for displaying the contents of provided services. Background technique [0003] Currently, a client-server system that connects a server device and client devices using various services provided by the server device to each other via a network is widely used. [0004] For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2006-74345 (hereinafter referred to as "345 A") discloses a data transmission device connected via a network to a destination search server that stores and retrieves destination information. When the user logs in, the data transmission device automatically searches only the transmission destination information that is likely to be used by the user with the transmission destination search server, receives and...
