Abstract

The invention provides a method for packaging a datagram message of a measurement while drilling (WMD) system, and in particular relates to a method for packaging parameters measured underground of a petroleum WMD system into datagrams. The method is mainly realized by three steps of: (1) numbering the datagrams, and determining the datagrams of special types; (2) delimiting a data field, wherein the main rule is that a value of a 'data field delimiting' field according to the length of each parameter field; and (3) classifying the datagrams, dividing the datagrams into WMD parameters, a data transmission mode and a Huffman coded datagram. The method disclosed by the invention is used for packaging the datagrams of the WMD system in oil drilling, well survey, well logging, and the like, thereby realizing a flexible, universal and efficient data transmission protocol.
