Embodiment Construction

[0044] figure 1 A rolling bearing 1 according to the invention is shown according to a first exemplary embodiment. The rolling bearing 1 is a cylindrical roller bearing and comprises an outer ring 2 with a rolling-element raceway 3 on which rolling-element raceways 4 roll. Furthermore, the rolling elements 4 roll over on the rolling element raceways 5 of the inner ring 6 (inner ring rolling element raceways 5 ). The inner ring has edges 7 , 8 for axially guiding the rolling bodies 4 . On the periphery, the rolling bodies are held at intervals by cages 9 . The inner ring has a conical inner shell surface 13 .

[0045] The outer ring has two grooves 10 , 11 which are distributed over the circumference on the outer casing surfaces 12 a , 12 b of the outer ring 2 . The housing surface has a first portion 12 a axially between the two grooves 10 , 11 and a second portion 12 b axially outside the grooves 10 , 11 towards both sides. The first part 12a is set back slightly in the ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a rolling bearing (1), comprising rolling elements (4) and an outer race (2), wherein an outer shell (12a, 12b) of the outer race (2) comprises two circumferential grooves (10, 11) axially spaced at least by the amount of the axial extent of the rolling elements (4), and wherein a first part of the outer shell (12b) axially between the two grooves (10, 11) is radially retracted relative to a second part of the outer shell (12b) axially outside of the grooves (10, 11), and wherein the outer race comprises a substantially constant thickness in the area of the first part of the outer shell (12a). In order to provide a simple rolling bearing that is inexpensive to produce and fits in a standard installation space, the invention proposes that the ratio for each groove between a radial wall thickness (B) of said groove and an axial wall thickness (A) of said groove is in the range from 0.5 to 1.5, wherein the radial wall thickness (B) corresponds to the smallest radial wall thickness of the outer race, and wherein the axial wall thickness (A) corresponds to the smallest axial distance of the groove from an adjacent end face (14, 15) of the outer race.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a rolling bearing comprising rolling bodies and an outer ring, wherein the outer ring has two annular grooves on the outer shell surface which are axially spaced apart by at least the amount of the axial extension of the rolling bodies , and wherein the first part of the housing surface between the two grooves in the axial direction is radially retracted relative to the second part of the housing surface outside the grooves in the axial direction, and wherein the outer ring is on the housing surface The region of the first portion has a substantially constant thickness. Rolling bearings of this type are suitable, for example, for non-locating bearings used as spindle bearings in machine tools. Background technique [0002] Such rapidly rotating spindles, which are either motor-driven or externally driven, are mounted via fixed and floating bearings. In this case, the spindle is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the ...
