Benefits of technology

This patented technology described in this patents allows medical professionals to study how well different drugs are effective at reducing pain caused by arthrosis or joint damage from degeneration related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. By comparing these therapies with eachother they found out stronger benefits compared to their individual agents.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed by this patented technology relates to finding an efficient way for administering pain relief agents like opioids through various methods called anti-mullerial plaque techniques. Current commercial formulations have low loadings but they may cause discomfort when applied over longer periods due to their high water content making them difficult to remove from the body's natural barrier layer after use. This makes these preparations less likely to work well outside the human body where there could harm other tissues around us.

Abstract

The invention provides a cataplasm for treating knee osteoarthritis, which is prepared from the following Chinese medicinal raw materials in parts by mass: 60 to 120 parts of pseudo-ginseng, 60 to 120 parts of lamiophlomis rotata, 50 to 100 parts of girald daphne bark, and 6 to 12 parts of borneol. The cataplasm is prepared by the following five steps of: extracting effective components of the pseudo-ginseng, extracting effective components of the lamiophlomis rotata, extracting effective components of the girald daphne bark, grinding the borneol into powder, and forming, wherein sodium polyacrylate, arabic gum, tragacanth and glycerol are uniformly mixed according to a ratio of 0.5:2:3:2 to serve as a substrate, and extract powder of a Chinese medicinal material which is of a mass ratio of 1:1 with the substrate and borneol powder are added. In 126 cases of clinical observation for treatment of knee osteoarthritis by using the cataplasm, treatment effects of a treatment group and a control group are subjected to statistic processing by adopting a chi-square test (2*c contingency table independence test), and results show remarkable differences between the two groups (p is less than 0.05), thereby indicating that the curative effect of the cataplasm for treating the knee osteoarthritis is better than that of damp-removing and pain-relieving ointment.
