Abstract

The invention provides a backlight module and a liquid crystal display device, which can solve the problem of bad optical quality of the liquid crystal display device due to the difficult aligning of the backlight module which is formed by assembling a plurality of light guide plates. The backlight module comprises a guide light plate and a plurality of light-emitting elements. The guide light plate is provided with a plurality of separation grooves, a bottom surface, a light-out surface, a first side and a second side. The bottom surface is opposite to the light-out surface. The first and the second sides are positioned at the opposite two sides of the guide light plate. All the separation grooves extend from the first side to the second side. Each separation groove is provided with an opening which is positioned at the bottom surface. The light-emitting elements are arranged on at least one of the first and the second sides. A liquid crystal display panel of the liquid crystal display device is arranged at the light-out side.
