The present invention is an analyzer for analyzing a target substance contained in a sample using a reagent containing magnetic particles, the analyzer comprising: a magnetic capturing section that comprises a first holder configured to hold a container accommodating a liquid specimen containing a sample and the reagent containing the magnetic particles and that comprises a first magnetic force generating member configured to magnetically capture the magnetic particles in the container held by the first holder; a target substance separating section that comprises a second holder configured to hold the container and a second magnetic force generating member configured to magnetically capture the magnetic particles in the container held by the second holder, and that discharges a cleaning liquid into the container held by the second holder and aspirates a liquid in the container held by the second holder while magnetically capturing the magnetic particles in the container with the second magnetic force generating member; and a container transferring section configured to transfer the container from the magnetic capturing section to the target substance separating section, wherein the first magnetic force generating member of the magnetic capturing section is arranged on a lower side of the container held by the first holder and is configured to magnetically capture the magnetic particles in the container held by the first holder.
