The vehicle control apparatus is provided with the following components: a sliding control clutch which has an operation mode of performing rotation speed control on a driving source according to a mode that the driving source side rotation speed of the clutch becomes a rotation speed that is higher than the driving wheel side rotation speed of the clutch for a preset amount; a vehicle stopping state determining device; a torque detecting device; a vehicle stopping transmitting torque capacity correcting device which reduces instruction oil pressure from an initial instruction oil pressure and sets a corrected instruction oil pressure based on the instruction oil pressure in determination release; an inclination switching oil pressure setting device which sets an inclination switching oil pressure based on actual torque change amount in a period between reduction of the instruction oil pressure from the initial instruction oil pressure until termination of the actual torque change; and an instruction oil pressure increasing device which increases the instruction oil pressure from the instruction oil pressure in determination release to the inclination oil pressure with a preset torque generation front semi-inclination generation before the corrected instruction oil pressure is set, and increases the instruction oil pressure with a back semi-inclination which is smaller than the torque generation back semi-inclination that is smaller than the torque generation front semi-inclination after an inclination switching oil pressure is obtained.
