Abstract

A method and apparatus suitable for making two-piece metal containers are disclosed. In particular, it is disclosed that a cup is manufactured from sheet metal using a combination of stretching and drawing operations. The resulting cup has the advantage of having a thinner base thickness relative to the as-rolled dimensions of the sheet metal.
