Embodiment Construction

[0025] The present invention will be further described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments of the present invention.

[0026] For a given 3-D scene composed of triangles, a quadrilateral area light ( figure 1 L in 0 L 1 ) (not shown in the figure "L 2 L 3 ”), the camera E at a given viewpoint and the corresponding imaging surface I 0 I 1 , this method of drawing soft shadows includes the following steps:

[0027] Step (1), rasterize and draw the entire scene S from the position of the camera E, and draw the three-dimensional coordinate information sampled by each pixel to the texture I 0 I 1 middle.

[0028] Step (2), use the hardware acceleration method based on CUDA (Computing Unified Device Architecture) to calculate the texture I 0 I 1 Each pixel P in corresponds to a shadow value. Specifically divided into the following three steps:

[0029] (a), for I 0 I 1 Each sampling pixel P in judges and stores the set of scene ...

Abstract

The invention provides an efficient accurate general soft shadow generation method. The framework process of the method includes: firstly, rendering a scene under a viewpoint, and rendering the three-dimensional coordinate information of each sampled pixel into a floating texture; secondly, arranging an oblique camera towards a surface light source quadrilateral at the position of each sampled pixel, rasterizing scene triangles possibly in camera view frustums to obtain the visibility information of the sampled point to a light source, and further obtaining a shadow value of the sampled point; and thirdly, rendering the scene again under the viewpoint by applying the shadow value generated in the previous step, and outputting rendering results to a screen. The method supports dynamic surface light sources and dynamic deformable scenes, does not need precomputation, and has the advantages of vividness, high efficiency, generality and the like.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of accurate soft shadows, and in particular relates to an efficient and accurate general soft shadow generation method. Background technique [0002] In the real world, shadows are everywhere. For a three-dimensional virtual scene, shadows are helpful for people to judge the spatial relative positional relationship of objects in the scene, to enhance the realism of the scene, and to enhance the immersion of the scene. Although many mature shadow generation algorithms have been successfully applied in games, animation and virtual reality systems, each algorithm has its advantages and disadvantages and applicable situations. Generating adaptable, robust, high-quality, pixel-accurate dynamic shadows remains a great challenge.
