Abstract

The invention discloses a RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol)-based stream media transmission method in a 3G (The 3rd Generation Telecommunication) network. After receiving a request, a server generates two UDP (User Datagram Protocol) channels including a RTP channel and a RTCP (Real-time Transport Control Protocol) channel between a client and the server, and then the transmission of a stream media on the 3G network can be realized by a multithreading mechanism, wherein the server comprises the following 3 threads of: 1. generating and transmitting RTP packets, packing the RTP packets in a UDP packet, and transmitting to a client by multiplexing; 2. periodically transmitting RTCP packets; and 3. monitoring the RTCP packets transmitted from the client, wherein the client also has 3 corresponding threads. After receiving the RTP packets, a receiving end firstly analyzes RTP packet headers, judges the validity of information about versions, lengths and load types, updates RTP information of a buffer region, carries out information source synchronization according to a RTP time stamp, packet serial numbers and the like, clears up the RTP packet numbers and reconfigures video frames; and finally, the decoding is carried out according to load type identifiers, and data are placed into a buffer memory to be decoded and output by a decoder.
