The invention discloses to a wireless sensor network topology construction method based on a spanning tree, which comprises the following steps of 1) conducting neighbor detection, calculating the maximum probability that each neighbor node becomes a subnode of the neighbor node (a parent node) according to a message returned from the neighbor node, and conducting descending sort on temporary subnodes and generating a relation table, 2) conducting subnode selection, calculating and determining the number of the subnodes, and sending the relation table and an acknowledgement message to each temporary subnode that is identified as the subnode, and 3) conducting self-salvation, wherein the temporary subnode without receiving the relation table and the acknowledgement message waits for the self-salvation in Step 2), and the self-salvation is successful in Step 3) if the temporary subnode that is not temporarily identified as the subnode by the parent node broadcasts a Hello message to a node within the coverage area of the node and receives a reply message of the neighbor node within a waiting time range.
