Embodiment Construction

[0094] exist figure 1 , a tire 1 of size 315 / 70R22.5 comprises a radial carcass reinforcement 2 anchored in two beads 3 surrounding bead wires 4 . The carcass reinforcement 2 is formed from a single layer of metal cables. The carcass reinforcement 2 is hooped by a crown reinforcement 5 , which is itself covered by a tread 6 .

[0095] Such as figure 2 As shown, the crown reinforcement 5 is radially formed from the inside to the outside as follows:

[0096] - A first working layer 51 formed of unencapsulated inextensible metal cords 11.35 continuous over the entire width of the ply and oriented at an angle of 18° ,

[0097] - a layer 52 of circumferential reinforcing elements formed by metal cords of steel 21x23 of the "bi-module" type,

[0098] - a second working layer 53 formed by unencapsulated inextensible metal cords 11.35 continuous over the entire width of the ply, oriented at an angle of 18°, and crosses the metal cords of said first working layer,

[0099] - A...

Abstract

The invention relates to a tire with a radial carcass reinforcement comprising a crown reinforcement, itself radially capped with a tread comprising at least two circumferentially continuous cutouts, the said tread being connected to two beads via two sidewalls. According to the invention, the crown reinforcement comprises at least one axially discontinuous layer consisting of at least two bands each formed of at least one multilayer laminate, the said laminate comprising at least one multiaxially stretched thermoplastic polymer film positioned between and in contact with two layers of rubber composition, and, in a meridian plane, the axial ends of each of the said bands being respectively axially on the outside of each of the axially outermost points of one same circumferentially continuous cutout.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to tires with radial carcass reinforcement, and more particularly to tires intended to be fitted on vehicles carrying heavy loads and traveling at sustained speeds, such as, for example, vans, tractors, trailers or road buses. Background technique [0002] Usually, in tire types for heavy vehicles, the carcass reinforcement is anchored on either side in the bead area and is radially covered by a crown reinforcement consisting of at least two layers overlapping each other , and are formed of cords or cables parallel within each layer and crossing from one layer to the next so as to form an angle with the circumferential direction of between 10° and 45°. Said working layer forming the working reinforcement may also be covered by at least one layer called protective layer and formed by reinforcing elements, advantageously metallic and extensible, called elastic elements. It may also consist of a layer of metal cords or cable...
