Embodiment Construction

[0052] Figure 1 to Figure 2 and Figure 8 to Figure 1 3 The machine shown is mounted to a 14 ( Figure 8 to Figure 1 3) Inside a pair of solid upright frame structures as shown. The frame structure 14 has sufficient spacing to accommodate the width of the feed mechanisms 2a, 2b, 3 and 13 and the peeling elements 5, 6 and 7. The machine is supported by triangular legs 15 . There is an input port shown at 13 and an output port shown at 35 . It should be readily apparent from these drawings that the described invention essentially represents a box-like structure which can be framed, secured and supported by a number of structural means. This box design can be implemented particularly ideally as a combined forage and harvesting device.

[0053] Many devices are available for feeding the straw under the action of the squeeze rollers 2a and 2b. Figure 8 to Figure 1 The machine shown in 3 has straw fed in via input port 13 by manual means.

Abstract

A fibrous plant stalk decorticator is disclosed. The decorticator includes a feeding device a breaker roll having a first plurality of blades, and a skutcher roll having a second plurality of blades. The skutcher is positioned such that the first and second pluralities of blades overlap. A plurality of air outlets pass through the blades and are configured to provided pressurized air to the fibrous plant stalk as it is passed through the decorticator.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a debarking machine, which is a machine of the type designed to debark outer bast or bark fibers from such as hemp, flax, kenaf, jute, nettle, and internal woody core material separation of plant straw of other plants, said improved method comprising rapidly breaking the woody core material of bast fiber straw at very short intervals; rapidly combing the finely broken core material from the bast fibers; And to complete the above actions without causing mechanical damage to the bast fibers. This action is equally effective for plant straw under wet, dry, non-retting or retting conditions. Background technique [0002] Mechanical damage to bast fibers is unavoidable by past and existing debarking machines, including but not limited to splitters, combers, hammer mills, differential debarkers, and preshredders. This mechanical injury is often identified as a "kink band". In general, the drier and less retting the straw, ...
