Abstract

In a centrifugal compressing device comprising a centrifugal compressor, a motor and a power transmission mechanism, contact between an impeller and a shaft seal is prevented. The centrifugal compressor comprises a housing, the impeller received and fixed on the top of a pinion rotor when the pinion rotor is inserted, and annular shaft seals which are installed on the housing in such a manner of enclosing the pinion rotor to prevent compression gas from leaking out of the housing. The shaft seals are fixed on the housing such that a protruding portion of a shaft seal comprising an upper shaft seal portion and lower shaft seal portion presses, from the impeller side, against the butt joint portion of a shaft seal arranged outside the housing at the side opposite to the impeller.
