Abstract

The present application relates to low-latency interface based networking and processing means for the same. A network of processing devices includes a medium for providing a low-latency interface for point-to-point connections between each of the processing devices. Switches within each processing device are arranged to facilitate communication in any combination between processing resources within each processing device and a local point-to-point interface. A networking layer is provided above the low-latency interface stack that facilitates software reuse and utilizes existing protocols to provide the point-to-point connections. Higher speed of switching between a relatively low number of processor resources within each processing device is achieved while enabling low latency point-to-point communication by using said low latency interface to access processor resources external to a processing device .
