The method comprises the steps of (1) establishing a ransient state temperature rise mathematic model based on temperature rise, a generator structure and operation parameters of the stator core of the ship generator; (2) acquiring data of the generator in operation and using the data as sample data when the working condition of the ship generator changes, and applying a least square method to perform parameter identification on the established transient state temperature rise mathematic model; and (3) comprehensively judging a generator state by means of dynamic judgment and static judgment methods and achieving early warning of generator faults. Parameters of the transient state temperature rise mathematic model in the method reflect a technical state of the generator, the system parameter change situation is obtained by identifying a core temperature model in real time and is comprehensively judged with a rated temperature rise difference, the generator state can be accurately judged, and the early fault warning of the stator core of the generator is achieved.
