Embodiment Construction

[0020] exist figure 1 An internal combustion engine 1 with an exhaust gas aftertreatment device 3 is shown very simply and schematically in FIG. The exhaust aftertreatment device 3 includes an exhaust pipe 5, an oxidation catalyst 7 and an SCR catalyst 11 for selectively catalytically reducing nitrogen oxides harmful to human health. The particle filter which is usually arranged downstream of the oxidation catalytic converter 7 is not shown in the figure. The flow direction of the exhaust gas through the exhaust pipe 5 is indicated by arrows (without reference numerals).

[0021] To supply the SCR catalytic converter 11 with a liquid reducing agent, for example an aqueous urea solution (so-called AdBlue) or another liquid reducing agent, a feed 13 for the aqueous urea solution is arranged upstream of the SCR catalytic converter 11 on the exhaust pipe 5 . The feed device 13 injects an aqueous urea solution into the exhaust pipe 5 upstream of the SCR catalytic converter 11 as ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a functional unit (20) of a supply tank (19) of an injection device (15) for a liquid reducing agent in an exhaust gas post-treatment device (3) comprising a catalyst (11) for selective catalytic reduction (SCR). The functional unit (20) is essentially equipped to convey the reducing agent from the supply tank (19) in a targeted manner and to prevent the reducing agent from freezing at least in the region of the functional unit (20) at extremely low temperatures. The functional unit (20) is designed such that it is not damaged when the reducing agent freezes.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a storage case for a spraying device according to the preamble of claim 1 and a functional unit thereof. Background technique [0002] Owing to increasingly stringent exhaust gas control regulations, especially in the case of vehicles with internal combustion engines, the carbon dioxide content of the exhaust gas has to be further reduced. A common method is Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) using a catalytic converter, in which the health-hazardous nitrogen oxide components of the exhaust gas are reduced to nitrogen and water by means of a liquid reducing agent, such as aqueous urea (so-called AdBlue). In this approach, reductant is typically pumped from a storage tank to an inlet valve, which in turn is injected into the exhaust gas. [0003] The prior art and the present invention are hereinafter distinguished by "upper" and "lower". Here, if not stated otherwise, these instructions refer to the installed state of the st...
