Abstract

The invention is derived to a device for efficient transport of passenger cars or similar, with a high environmental and energy saving result, including: at least one two-dimensional framework (2), at least one connecting element (3) positioned and attached in the third dimension perpendicular to said at least one two-dimensional framework. The said two-dimensional framework (2) and the said at least one connecting element (3) together form a framework body of the said device. This device is further characterized by including at least one fastening device for vertical attachment and storage of a passenger car (10, 10') in order to arrange the passenger cars vertically. When the passenger cars are placed vertically suspended in the container device according to this invention; the use of volume is significantly improved compared to previous container solutions and known techniques for transport of passenger cars. The said framework body (1) comprises a vertical central structure (3, 41) in the longitudinal direction of the centre line of the device, wherein at least one fastening device is placed towards the said vertical centre structure (3, 41), so that a passenger car (10, 10 ') is placed in vertical direction with the bottom plate of the passenger car (10, 10 ') towards the said vertical centre structure (3, 41) and the forward end of the passenger car (10, 10') facing upwards, and wherein the cross section of the framework body (1); in the cross direction of the device is limited to acceptable maximum cross sectional dimension according to rail standard. The invention relates further to a method of transporting a passenger car (10, 10 ') in such a device.
