Abstract

The invention discloses a cleaning system for a top insulator of an electric locomotive. The cleaning system mainly comprises an air compressor, a vortex tube and a high-pressure hot air spray heads. By reasonably arranging the positions and quantity of the air spray heads, the surface temperature and dryness of the top insulator can be increased under the condition of not influencing the work and safety of a top high-voltage pantograph system, and water, ice, snow and dirt sticking to the top insulator are blown off to prevent the formation of pollution flashover conditions. Thus, the running reliability of the electric locomotive under a severe climate environmental condition is enhanced, economic losses of a railway transport system caused by various pollution flashover accidents are reduced, and the labor intensity of relevant operation and maintenance personnel is lowered.
