The invention provides a method and system for dispatching the number of virtual machines based on internal storage resource supplying. The method comprises the steps that the relation of the number of the virtual machines and the number of the virtual machines allowed by the system to be established according to the arrival rate of virtual machine establishing requests and the virtual machine establishing service rate of the system, and the optimal number of the virtual machines allowed by the system to be established is determined; a buddy algorithm parameter of an internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in a host operating system is modified, and the available internal storage of the system is divided into k parts; the internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in the host operating system allocates one of the k parts of the internal storage to an internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in a client operating system of a current virtual machine; the internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in the host operating system recycles the internal storage of the internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in the virtual machine client operating system. The method and system can dispatch the internal storage resources between the internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in the host operating system and the internal storage resource dispatching subsystem in the client operating system on a physical server in a data center, and the number of the virtual machines dispatched on the physical server is effectively guided.
