Abstract

A safety automation builder is provided that assists in the development of compatible safety functions for industrial safety systems. Safety Automation Builder imports a system diagram or image of the user's production line, machine, or production area and guides the user through a workflow that facilitates configuration of safety functions for each hazard access point. The Security Automation Builder utilizes a library of security devices and coding knowledge of industry security standards to guide the user toward the selection of an appropriate security device that mitigates the risks associated with the access point. When configured, the Safety Automation Builder can export safety function data to an external verification system to confirm that the configured safety function complies with prescribed industrial safety standards.
