A medical electrode designed to prevent the passage of harmful electric current to a patient, thereby preventing tissue damage and electrocution. In the preferred embodiment, the inventive medical electrode is comprised of a proximal end, a distal end, a conductive lead connecting the proximal and distal ends, and a fuse located upon the medical electrode for preventing the passage of harmful electric current to a patient. For additional protection from induction current, the preferred location of the fuse is aft of the conductive lead element of the electrode. While a fuse is used in the preferred embodiment, the fuse could be replaced with a diode or a circuit breaker.

An electrical adapter with dual, user-operable locking mechanisms for attachment to a standard electrical plug and outlet, one for securing the prongs of the adapter into a socket or wall-mounted outlet or receptacle and the other for securing a standard electrical plug thereto. The two mechanisms work independently of each other to secure the male and female sides of a conventional plug-and-socket combination together. The adapter can be used with existing appliances, hand tools, extension cords, and electrical outlets without the need for rewiring. The male and female ends of the adapter may be connected by an electrical cord to replace a conventional extension cord; alternatively, the locking mechanism can be built into replacement electrical plugs or a wall outlet having approximately the same dimensions as conventional outlets. The invention also provides extra safety from electrocution and reduces spark hazards by locking the plug and socket together to help prevent accidental dislodging.

One embodiment of the present disclosure may take the form of a watering device for animals with continuously flowing water to attract the attention of the animal. To create flowing water, a water screw device may be utilized within the watering device to move water from a lower bowl of the device to an upper bowl. The water screw may be configured such that the electrical components of the water screw remain separated from the water of the watering dish to remove the possibility of electrocution of the water. Rather, only the mechanical components of the water screw device may contact the water of the watering device while the electrical motor of the water screw remains safely out of the water.

The light source and grid are arranged such that the grid does not interfere with the transmission of light in at least one direction. A safety circuit for disconnecting the power feed to an EV (electrical vehicle) charging enclosure or gasoline station fuel pump enclosure in the event that the enclosure is partially or totally dislodged from the foundation and dangerously high voltage has been exposed due to underground conduits being torn apart and electrical cables being exposed and in contact with sheet metal cabinets and other metal parts, thus creating the possibility of an explosion or the electrocution of a user or bystanders. The safety circuit comprises at least two proximity sensors, each of which transmits a signal into a control circuit which causes the power feed to the enclosure to be disconnected at the source when either or both of the proximity sensors inform the control circuit that the station has moved either vertically or horizontally more than a few thousandths of an inch.

An electrically powered rodent trap which includes a surveillance system for remote surveillance of the trap so that the trap may be operated without being attended to. A rodent which enters into the trap is killed by means of electrocution electrodes. The dead rodent is automatically dispatched from the trap, e.g. by a trapdoor, into a container or reservoir beneath the trap. The number of electrocutions and possible other data is stored by an electronic system incorporated in the trap and a signal is sent out, either by request from an external unit, or automatically to an external unit. Methods, systems and apparatuses for providing high electrical resistance for an upper control assembly (including control handles) of an aerial lift are provided through an isolation member that is integral to the upper control assembly and interposed between fluid lines in the control assembly and a set of fluid conduits that extend from the control assembly towards other portions of the aerial lift. The isolation member is a dielectric element that comprises a manifold that is made of material that is substantially electrically non-conductive, and that has a plurality of through-holes or hoses configured to allow hydraulic fluid to flow through the isolation member into and out of the fluid lines and conduits. A vermin trap including a rotatable passage, the passage comprising an electrocution section and an open section, and a sensor for detecting vermin presence in the passage. When a vermin detection signal is sent to a controller, the controller causes electrification of the electrocution section and electrocution of the vermin, and the controller subsequently rotates the passage such that the vermin carcass is dumped downwardly through the open section. An electronic insect electrocution device with an integral display and counting means that displays the number of discharges, or “zapped” insects is herein disclosed. The device comprises a lamp enclosed within an enclosure comprising series of alternating grids energized by a voltage increasing device, which electrocutes any insects that fly towards the lamp. A numeric digital display is provided on the top of the enclosure and reflects the current number of discharges or killed insects. The counter is provided with an input signal that detects the voltage fluctuation of the grid every time an insect is killed. This detection circuit drives a counting circuit which interfaces with the counter. It is reset every time the unit is unplugged.

A vermin trap apparatus and method. The trap comprises a movable path between the entrance and the bait, and sensor means adjacent the movable path for detecting vermin presence on the path. When a vermin detection signal is sent to control means, the control means causes a movable clamping member to trap the vermin for electrocution. Also provided are methods of the path to rotate and/or pivot, thereby dislodging the electrocuted vermin and into a containment region. Methods for electrocuting vermin are also disclosed.

The electronic apparatus includes a casing that houses a power control unit therein, and having one end open, an access cover disposed at the casing to open and close the open side of the casing, and a power supply device that connects an external power source to the power control unit. The power supply device shuts the power control unit off from the external power source when the open side is open. Accordingly, when the access cover is opened for the operations such as additional installation of the optional item or replacement of inner parts with new ones, the external power supply is automatically shut off. Therefore, accidents such as electrocution or burns, can be prevented, and damage to the electronic apparatus caused by the electrical shock can also be prevented.

A method and apparatus for electrocution and disposal of pests, the apparatus including a reusable power source and a low cost disposable container. The reusable power source includes batteries and a circuit to provide a high voltage and low current signal to the disposable container, to electrocute small pests without presenting a risk to humans or pets. The disposable container is constructed from low cost material, for example, cardboard or plastic, and in one embodiment may be nested for efficient retail packaging. The nesting may be accomplished using tapered disposable containers or a series of decreasing size containers. A container floor includes conducting surfaces formed or glued on the floor. Internal leads and connector surfaces are similarly formed on sides and a rear of the container. The connector surfaces are configured to connect to the power source.
