Abstract

The present application presents data from clinical trials of PSD-95 inhibitors administered to subjects undergoing endovascular repair of aneurysms in or affecting the central nervous system. The subject is classified according to whether the aneurysm ruptured before performing the endovascular procedure. The trial demonstrated significant benefit to subjects whether or not the aneurysm ruptured prior to performing the endovascular procedure. Surprisingly, the subjects who benefited most from treatment based on pathological and neurocognitive findings were those with ruptured aneurysms leading to subarachnoid hemorrhage. These data constitute evidence that PSD‑95 inhibitors are beneficial not only in ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, but also in forms of bleeding in or affecting the central nervous system, particularly subarachnoid hemorrhage beneficial.
