Abstract

A reactive power automatic compensation device for distribution lines relates to the field of electrical technology. The reactive power automatic compensation device comprises a controller and a first capacitor bank which are connected in parallel between a power side and a load side. The first capacitor bank is connected in parallel with a second capacitor bank, a third capacitor bank, a first voltage limiting protector group and a second voltage limiting protector group. A fuse group is arranged between the first capacitor bank, the power side and the load side. The second voltage limiting protector group is connected with a voltage transformer. The controller is used for acquiring voltage of a line and current and voltage of capacitors, has the functions of reverse reactive power compensation and full-line reactive power balancing, and enables the compensation device to provide reactive power both for load at the rear end of a compensation point and other distribution transformers at the front end of the compensation point. Through reasonable capacitor grouping and correct compensation point selecting, the purpose of power factor improving is achieved, and the reactive power loss of lines is minimized.
