Abstract

Systems and methods for securing a soft tissue graft to bone are provided herein. In one embodiment, a surgical implant can include an elongate body (300) having a longitudinal axis (314) extending therealong and having first and second through-holes (310, 312) that are offset to a first side of the longitudinal axis and a third through-hole (316) that is offset to a second side of the longitudinal axis and that is positioned between the first and second through-holes. The implant can also include a suture length extending through the first, second, and third through-holes such that a self-locking knot is formed on a first side of the body and a plurality of suture loops are formed on a second side of the body opposite the first side.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Application 61 / 860,680, filed July 31, 2013. technical field [0003] The present application relates generally to surgery and, more particularly, to methods and devices for securing soft tissue grafts to bone. Background technique [0004] Ligaments are fibrous tissues that connect bones to other bones in the body. Surgical reconstruction may be necessary when ligaments are damaged because ligaments cannot regenerate on their own. There are many surgical procedures for reattaching ligaments or other soft tissue to bone. An example is figure 1 Knee 100 is shown including anterior cruciate ligament 102 and posterior cruciate ligament 104 extending from the head of tibia 106 to the intercondylar notch of femur 108 . These ligaments work to prevent relative forward and backward movement between 2 bones. When ruptured (for example, this can occur during strenuous s...
