The nucleotide sequence of the gen is represented as SEQ ID NO: 1 and the amino acid sequence of the encoded protein is represented as SEQ ID NO: 2. The GmBGS2 gene is transferred to the soybean, beanpod of plant with GmBGS2 gene overexpression is remarkably larger than wild beanpod; and the GmBGS2 gene is used for enlarging seeds and increasing hundred-grain weight.
