Abstract

The invention provides a passive positioning and tracking method based on a wireless sensor network. A system comprises a control node (Controller) used for transmitting a control command to the wireless sensor network, a plurality of networking nodes (Node) communicated with one another to generate network state information, and a receiving node (Collector) used for receiving information from the networking node and transmitting the information to an upper computer for further processing through a serial port after first treatment, wherein the upper computer is capable of operating a real-time positioning and tracking algorithm. The network state information indicates received signal strength (RSSI, Received Signal Strength Indicator) between node pairs, and the Nodes broadcast the data packet in sequence through a token ring protocol. A target position can be positioned by the outside world through only three nodes theoretically, but the positioning error is large under the actual condition, so that simultaneous processing of information collected by the all nodes is considered, and a reasonable weight is given to influence of each data on target positioning, and thus the positioning error is reduced.
