Abstract

A fuel injection valve (1), which is used particularly for fuel injection systems (2) in internal combustion engine,s comprises a casing (3), a valve needle (6) provided in the casing (3) and a fuel feed (4). A valve needle extension (15) which is capable of being operated at least indirectly by the valve needle (6) is provided. The valve needle extension (15) can be moved in the region of the fuel feed (4) by an opening stroke of the valve needle (6). The invention further relates to a fuel injection system (2) with a fuel injection valve (1) of this kind. An end (28) of the valve needle extension (15) opposite the valve needle (6) can be moved by the opening stroke of said valve needle into, and if necessary through, a passage opening (25) in a wall (24) of a fuel manifold (21) of the fuel injection system (2).
