[0056] In Table 1, the growth of grass for different cobalt levels (0, 1, 10, 100 and 1000 ppm) by applying cobalt lactate to the soil (before sowing) or spraying directly onto grass blades once grown . After the 2nd growth, harvesting was done and the total grass weight is shown for the different treatments. Growth approximately doubled when applied at 1 or 10 ppm in soil or sprayed with cobalt lactate at 100 ppm. All work was carried out on soil (Miracle Gro Soil) that was completely intact in terms of nitrogen, phosphorus and methine so that the only difference between the greenhouse platforms was the level of cobalt applied and how it was applied. Cobalt uptake was rate-dependent and reflected closely at lower levels.

[0060] Analysis was performed on 64 sample shallow seedbeds (flats). Fill each empty shallow seedbed with about 0.25 cubic feet of Miracle Gro Soil (complete soil containing enough macronutrients, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to sustain plants for 3-4 months). After planting the seeds, start the treatment of the soil where the seeds were planted. Water shallow seedbeds daily. Record progress weekly. Abstract

Embodiments of the invention relate to a method of making a mineral product. The method includes contacting a carboxylic acid and an inorganic mineral compound sufficient to form a solution, reacting the solution over a period of time sufficient to provide a mineral chelated compound, transferring the mineral chelated compound to one or more molds prior to the compound substantially solidifying and reducing the size of the mineral chelated compound sufficient to provide a rapidly soluble mineral chelated product.
