[0051] The invention is practiced in the treatment of wastewater in the latex glove manufacturing industry. The present invention is intended to treat industrially produced wastewater to meet the wastewater discharge standards established by the Malaysian Department of Environment (DOE) under Standard B of the Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 / 2009.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition for treating waste water, which comprises: by weight percentage, 43.7-46.2% bentonite; 24.1-25.9% aluminum sulfate (Al2(SO4)3), wherein, the particle size of Al2(SO4)3 is 18 ‑74 μm; 19.2‑20.8% ceramic powder; 4.8‑5.2% chitosan, wherein the chitosan has a particle size of 44 μm; and 4.8‑5.2% calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Further disclosed are methods of using the composition for treating wastewater. A device for dispensing said composition into wastewater is further disclosed.
