[0072] Example I. Evaluation of fluroxypyr-methylheptyl ester (fluroxypyr-meptyl) and Post-emergence herbicidal activity of mixtures of flumetsulam

[0073] Multiple post-emergence field trials were conducted under field conditions in the United States (Mississippi, South Dakota and Minnesota) and Mexico. The trial site was located in commercially grown fields of maize (ZEAMX), spring wheat (TRZAS), and winter wheat (TRZAW) using standard herbicide plot study methods. The size of the post-emergence test plot is 2-3 meters (m) x 4-5m (width x length), and each treatment is repeated 4 times. Crops are grown using conventional breeding practices of fertilization, seeding, watering, and maintenance to ensure good crop and weed growth.

Abstract

Herbicidal compositions containing (a) fluoroxypyr or an agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof and (b) flumetsulam or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof provide synergistic herbicidal control of undesirable vegetation, e.g., in wheat, barley, oats, rye, sugarcane, rice, sorghum, corn / maize, soybean, rice, sunflower, canola / oilseed rape, sugarcane, sorghum, cotton, pastures, grasslands, rangelands, fallowland, turf, tree and vine orchards, industrial vegetation management and rights-of-way; or crops comprising an aad-12 gene. Also provided herein are methods of using herbicidal compositions containing (a) fluoroxypyr or an agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof and (b) flumetsulam or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof.
