Abstract
The invention relates to a new medical use of astaxanthin, i.e. prevention and treatment of organophosphorus pesticide induced male reproductive toxicity, and further relates to application in drugs inhibiting organophosphorus pesticide induced sperm motility decrease, sperm abnormality rate increase, testis tissue MDA content increase, and testis tissue CAT activity and LDH activity decrease. High-toxic organophosphorus pesticide and low toxicity organophosphorus pesticide phoxim are adopted as the representative to study the prevention and treatment effect of astaxanthin on male reproductive toxicity caused by low concentration organophosphorus pesticide exposure, and the study proves that astaxanthin can inhibit male reproductive toxicity induced by organophosphorus pesticide and has good dose dependence, thus putting forward application of astaxanthin as an active material in preparation of drugs for organophosphorus pesticide induced male reproductive toxicity.
Description
technical field [0001] The invention relates to the application of astaxanthin, in particular to the application of astaxanthin in the preparation of medicines for preventing and treating male reproductive toxicity diseases caused by organophosphorus pesticides. Background technique [0002] Organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) are a class of high-efficiency, low-residue pesticides that have become the broadest-spectrum pesticides used in China today. The use of organophosphorus pesticides has made great contributions to the increase of production and harvest in agriculture, forestry, and fishery. However, with the widespread use of organophosphorus pesticides, their residues in vegetables and fruits are also more common. Although most people have paid attention to the prevention of acute poisoning of organophosphorus pesticides, the impact of long-term, low-dose, and chronic exposure of organophosphorus pesticides on human health, especially on male fertility, has not attracte...
