Abstract

The invention provides a network connection maintenance method and a computer system suitable for the computer system equipped with a timer. The timer is used for awakening the computer system with timing in order to examine whether network connection is normal or not. The method comprises following steps: firstly, receiving awakening operation of the computer system by a user in order to awaken the computer system; determining whether the connection time that the computer system takes from entering the last power-saving mode to the maintaining network connection is larger than the timing time the timer takes to awaken the computer system; and testing whether the network connection is normal or not if connection time is longer than timing time; and updating timing time of the timer with connection time if the network connection is normal.
