Abstract

A supercharging device for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle is described, which has planetary gear mechanisms (20), a first and a second electric machine (30, 32), a compressor impeller (40) and an internal combustion engine connector (40) set up for fastening to an output shaft (54) of the internal combustion engine. The first and the second electric machine (30, 32) and the compressor impeller (40) are connected to one another via the planetary gear mechanism (20). In a longitudinal axis direction (L) of the supercharging device (10), the compressor impeller (40) is arranged on a first side (40a) of one of the electric machines. The other one of the electric machines is arranged on the second side which lies opposite said first side (40a). Furthermore, a method for producing a corresponding supercharging device is described.

Description

Background technique [0001] In order to increase the power of an internal combustion engine, it is known that the latter is supercharged by means of a mixture for combustion which is compressed before being supplied to the combustion chamber. In addition, it is generally known that in order to perform compression, energy extracted from an exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine via a turbine or energy supplied via an electric motor may be used. However, the former may cause an undesirable lag in the response behavior of the internal combustion engine. In the latter case, electric energy is extracted from the vehicle's on-board electrical system battery, so that the battery and the on-board electrical system can withstand strong loads in an undesirable manner. [0002] The document WO2008 / 020184A1 describes a motor vehicle blower. In this case, via a planetary mechanism, the rotation speed of the internal combustion engine is added to the rotation speed of the first motor...
