The method comprises the following steps of storing metadata and interval block data, wherein the metadata includes a mapping relationship of a physical block number and a logic interval block number of a VSI, a VSI version number, an associated next VSI version number in the time sequence, a version ID, a current version counter, VSI latest version data and VSI historical version data; receiving an operation request on a virtual disk; carrying the VSI version number and the operation type in the operation request; determining the physical block number of the VSI version number; and performing data operation. By dividing a block into interval blocks, the memory overhead can be saved in the version management process.
