The invention provides a file processing method applied to a proxy server. A unified interface module is arranged on the proxy server. According to the method, the unified interface module is used for receiving a file processing request sent by third-party application, according to attribute information of a file to be processed and metadata in the file processing request, in multiple data nodes connected to the proxy server, a target data node is determined, and the file processing request is executed on the target data node. The unified interface module is provided for being called by a third party, for the third-party application, it is unnecessary to care about how to process the file processing request, by applying the proxy server, file processing service can be provided, isolation between the third-party application and the stored data nodes is achieved, and development complexity of the third-party application is reduced. In addition, the invention further provides a file processing device used for ensuring actual application and realization of the method.
