The method aims at solving the problem that air bag detonation cannot be accurately controlled through an existing side air bag implementing method conducting detonation decision making based on a single parameter, and through information about the wheel speed of all wheels, the information about whether a passenger exists or not, the information about whether the passenger wears a safety belt or not and the side acceleration of an automobile, air bag detonation control commands output under different degrees of collision strength and different side turning conditions are jointly judged and decided. After receiving the command sent by a control unit, an execution unit executes an air bag execution action. The method is easy to implement by the utilization of existing sensors of the automobile, and the decision making accuracy and reliability are improved through multi-parameter decision making. The strength grade of the side collisions is further taken into consideration in the method, so that air bag denotation is more accurately controlled.
