The maintaining and flushing method comprises the following steps of A, keeping intermittent back flushing on the dielectric-magnetic box by using water when the magnetic separator normally operates; B, clearing up the positions of easily-blocked points according to ordinary-time flushing overhaul statistics, and fixedly flushing the easily-blocked points by using a high-pressure cleaner during halting for overhaul, wherein the flushing direction is opposite to the magnetic separation direction of the dielectric-magnetic box, and each point is flushed for 20-30min; C, carrying out movable high-pressure flushing on the dielectric-magnetic box in a direction opposite to the magnetic separation direction of the dielectric-magnetic box, and controlling a flushing track during moving to ensure that a water flow flushing track covers the whole dielectric-magnetic box; and D, if a water flow on a flushing position is found to have the color of slurry or an iron ore concentrate during movable flushing, showing that the point is still blocked, and carrying out movable continuous flushing on the periphery of the point until the flushing water flow has no colors.
