Problems solved by technology

However, this design has the following two shortcomings: routers at key locations need to track the respective traffic sent by all sources down the shared tree; mutual switching requires additional overhead, and unnecessary traffic is pruned during the switching process the process of
The root node of the shared tree will have a single point of failure and performance bottleneck, so the candidate root node mechanism is often used during deployment, which introduces additional complexity

Embodiment

[0041] The SDN-based multicast method of this embodiment is implemented by a multicast module located at the core control layer in the SDN controller, and the multicast module is connected with a topology discovery / management module, a resource management module, a routing calculation module, a virtualization module, Network monitoring module interaction. The architecture of the SDN controller is as follows figure 1 As shown, it includes the northbound interface, the core control layer, and the southbound interface.

[0042] Such as figure 2 As shown, the device implementing the SDN-based multicast method of this embodiment includes an SDN controller, a forwarding device, and a host computer; Such information is reported to the logically centralized SDN controller in real time, and the joining and leaving of multicast group members and the registration information of multicast sources are also reported to the SDN controller in real time, so that the SDN controller can grasp...

Abstract

The invention discloses a multicast method based on an SDN. A member in a multicast group sends multicast group addition information to an SDN controller; a multicast source sends registration information to the SDN controller; the SDN controller forms a shortest path tree by taking the multicast source as a root node according to the addition information of the member in the multicast group, departure information of the member in the multicast group and the network situation; information of the shortest path tree is sent to forwarding equipment; therefore, a multicast forwarding table item is established on the forwarding equipment; and a multicast forwarding path is formed. The multicast method disclosed by the invention is superior to a sharing tree formed by a PIM-SM in the forwarding path aspect; and simultaneously, unnecessary network resource consumption due to a flooding mechanism in a PIM-DM is avoided.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to multicast technology, in particular to an SDN-based multicast method. Background technique [0002] Multicast technology realizes efficient point-to-multipoint data transmission in IP network, which can effectively save network bandwidth and reduce network load. Therefore, it is widely used in distance education, online live broadcast, video conferencing, online games and many other aspects. Existing multicast routing protocols are mainly intra-domain multicast routing protocols, that is, group membership information maintained according to the IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol, Internet Group Management Protocol) protocol, using PIM-SM (Protocol Independent Multicast-Spase Mode, Protocol Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode) or PIM-DM (Protocol Independent Multicast-Dense Mode, Protocol Independent Multicast-Dense Mode) multicast routing algorithm constructs a multicast distribution tree, establishes a multicast routing fo...
