Embodiment 1

[0231] The following toner particle raw materials were put into a Henschel mixer and mixed. The mixture was melted and kneaded in a twin screw extruder. After the molten mixture was cooled, it was coarsely pulverized in a hammer mill. The coarsely pulverized product is finely pulverized in a jet mill. The finely pulverized product was classified to obtain toner particles. The volume average diameter of the toner particles is 7 μm, and the glass transition temperature (Tg) is 45.1°C.

[0232] The composition of the toner particle raw material is as follows:

[0233]

[0234] 100 parts by mass of the toner particles and the following external additives were put into a Henschel mixer and mixed to produce a toner of Example 1.

[0235] The composition of the external additive is as follows:

[0236] Hydrophobic silica A (trade name "RX50", manufactured by Japan Aerosil Corporation, average primary particle size: 35nm) 0.2 parts by mass

[0237] Hydrophobic silica B (trade name "VP SX11...

Embodiment 2

[0240] The toner of Example 2 was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, except that the following toner particle raw materials and external additives were used. In addition, the volume average diameter of the toner particles is 7 μm, and the Tg is 45.0°C.

[0241] The composition of the toner particle raw material is as follows:

[0242]

[0243] The composition of the external additive is as follows:

[0244] 0.2 parts by mass of hydrophobic silica A

[0245] Hydrophobic silica B 0.8 parts by mass

[0246] 0.5 parts by mass of hydrophobic titanium oxide

Embodiment 3

[0248] The toner of Example 3 was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, except that the following toner particle raw materials and external additives were used. In addition, the volume average diameter of the toner particles is 7 μm, and the Tg is 33.7°C.

[0249] The composition of the toner particle raw material is as follows:

[0250]

[0251] The composition of the external additive is as follows:

[0252] Hydrophobic silica C (trade name "RX300", manufactured by Japan Aerosil Corporation, average primary particle size: 8nm) 0.2 parts by mass

[0253] Hydrophobic silica B 0.8 parts by mass

[0254] 0.5 parts by mass of hydrophobic titanium oxide

Abstract

The present invention provides a toner, a toner cartridge, and an image forming apparatus excellent in low-temperature fixability, storage stability, and long life. A toner according to an embodiment includes toner particles containing a colorant, a binder resin, and an ester wax. The ester wax includes two or more ester compounds represented by the following general formula (I) and having different numbers of carbon atoms. The number of carbon atoms (C) of the ester compound as the maximum content in the ester wax n1 ) is 40-44. Described ester wax satisfies specific formula (1) and formula (2): R 1 COOR 2 ···(I), R1 and R2 in the formula (I) are alkyl groups. The total carbon number of R1 and R2 is 31-53.

Description

Technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate to toner, toner cartridge, and image forming apparatus. Background technique [0002] The electrostatic charge image and the magnetic latent image in the electrophotographic method, electrostatic printing method, and magnetic recording method are developed by toner. For such toners, low-temperature fixability is required from the viewpoint of energy conservation based on environmental considerations in recent years. [0003] As a toner excellent in low-temperature fixability, a toner containing ester wax is known. With regard to the ester wax, the ester compound having the largest content in the ester wax has a small carbon number and a large content, and the carbon number distribution of the ester compound constituting the ester wax is sharp. Although this toner has excellent low-temperature fixability, sufficient storage properties cannot be obtained. [0004] In addition, toners containing crystalline polyester ...
