Embodiment Construction

[0060] Referring now in more detail to the accompanying drawings, figure 1A detailed view of an exemplary sample dilution profile is shown. Samples from patients will be diluted according to the protocol of the testing program, usually in a serial fashion. Using a fluidic device such as microfluidics or automated pipetting, the sample can be mixed with a dilution buffer solution to form a first dilution (eg, 1:10) of one part sample and nine parts buffer liquid. The same or alternative dilutions can be made to the dilutions of a given dilution step. In the attached figures, we have illustrated a simple dilution system, but point-of-care devices can make virtually arbitrary dilution pools by taking an appropriate amount of sample combined with a specific amount of buffer. The attached figure is only a representation of one such dilution profile.

[0061] A biological sample can be a fluid (eg, blood, serum, lymph, urine, tears, saliva, etc.), tissue (such as bone marrow, ha...

Abstract

A point of care immunization system based upon a range of detection methods to rapidly test a patient in order to ascertain an immunization profile so that vaccinations can be administered to address identified gaps. A point of care system comprised of sample and test strips / cartridges, with said test strips / cartridges configured to meet healthcare requirements of national governing bodies. A point of care system that can function as a stand-alone diagnostic system, stand-alone kit or with a device.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates, inter alia, to systems for diagnosing a patient's immune status and / or level of protection relative to disease. The present invention consists of a test strip / card and a means of detecting a signal result from a sample specimen from a patient. Background technique [0002] Point-of-care diagnostic devices measure antibody levels to various targets based on patient samples. A patient sample can be blood, saliva, tissue, or other bodily fluid or tissue that contains antibodies. Targeted test strips / cards are configured with the necessary immune tests for the appropriate group categorized by age, sex, life changing event, etc. [or any other classification] in accordance with country-specific healthcare guidelines. The test strip / card can be used with a point-of-care device or the test strip / card can be a self-contained diagnostic device. The system can also update the patient's immunization records and interface with appr...
