Abstract

The invention discloses a method and apparatus for updating network configuration of household electrical appliances. The method comprises the following steps: a router receiving an updating password request message from a user terminal, wherein the updating password request message carries a new password; the router updating its password to the new password and re-establishing connection with the user terminal; the router sending information of the household electrical appliances connected with the router, recorded before password updating to a cloud platform; the router receiving household electrical appliance information to be configured from the cloud platform, wherein the household electrical appliance information to be configured is information of household electrical appliances which are selected by the cloud platform from the household electrical appliances connected with the router and are bound with an account relevant to the router; and the router sending network configuration information and the household electrical appliance information to be configured to the user terminal. The method and apparatus prevent quite poor experience brought by a tedious configuration process to a user and can also eliminate illegal devices outside a household space from accessing to a household network.
