The multifunctional water purification filter element is mainly prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 15-45% of attapulgite of 100-300 meshes, 15-35% of activated carbon fiber of 100-300 meshes, 15-60% of novel water filter material of 100-300 meshes and 5-40% of fiber bonding agent of 100-300 meshes, wherein the novel water filter material is ion-exchange fiber or smectite. According to the above technical scheme, the attapulgite and the activated carbon fiber in the invention respectively have an adsorption effect; the attapulgite and the novel water filter material respectively have an ion-exchange capability; and the fiber bonding agent contributes to forming, thereby preventing the finished product from being subjected to deformation, shrinkage and the like in the use process.
