The method comprises the steps that to-be-queried location information of a target terminal is acquired; whether the spatial distance between the to-be-queried location information and reference location information is smaller than or equal to a preset threshold value is judged; if the spatial distance between the to-be-queried location information and the reference location information is smaller than or equal to the preset threshold value, the geographic location name corresponding to the to-be-queried location information is determined as a geographic location name corresponding to the reference location information; and if the spatial distance between the to-be-queried location information and the reference location information is greater than the preset threshold value, the geographic location name corresponding to the to-be-queried location information is acquired from a network geographic information system. Through the method and the device, the technical problem that query delay is long because a geographic location name corresponding to a GPS needs to be queried continuously from the network geographic information system in the prior art is solved.
