Abstract

One or more techniques and / or systems for detecting reverse polarity of a photovoltaic system are provided. The fuse holder may include a fuse holder body configured to accommodate a fuse used to prevent excessive current flow from a photovoltaic string of a photovoltaic system, such as due to a photovoltaic string being reversed installed and has reversed polarity resulting in a short-circuit current. Because fuse installation when a photovoltaic string has reverse polarity can result in material damage and injury, the reverse polarity detection component can be configured to identify reverse polarity and provide a warning of reverse polarity before the fuse is installed (e.g. , audible alarm, flashing light, locking of the fuse holder to prohibit installation of the fuse, etc.).
