The present disclosure relates to variable wake-up of high voltage chargers based on low voltage system parameters. A method of operating a vehicle system includes charging, by a controller, a low voltage battery via an electric vehicle charging station when a module powered by the low voltage battery is awakened and the state of charge of the low voltage battery is less than a threshold; the state of charge exceeding the threshold commands the module to enter a sleep mode for a sleep duration, wherein the sleep duration is defined by the module's power usage such that the sleep duration increases as the module changes in power usage.
